The foundation and spiritual basis…

The foundation and spiritual basis for the Muslim religion are the 5 “pillars”, which basically are meant to describe the most important life duties of each and every Muslim. The first and most significant pillar is the so called “Shahada”. It is not very easy for the term “Shahada” to be interpreted into English but it is often described as the awareness of belief. It is , of course , more spiritual term and understanding rather than any scientifically-precise description of the meaning. With the “Shalah”, the Muslim religion expresses the people’s belief in Allah, in the word of the prophet Mohammed as well as in the Muslim religion as such plus the Koran , of course. It can be interpreted to some extend than the Muslim religion’s “Shahada” is the religion itself representing the most important thing for each and every religion, namely the belief in it. Nowadays and previously, most of the Muslims follow the rule of the 5 prayers in one day. This ritual is followed anywhere the Muslims go and it is one of the most important things to do in the day – to – day life of the Muslim religion’s advocates. To many European people it may seem a little strange when they see that in one precise time of the day every Muslim following strictly the rules of their religion forgets about everything they do in this particular moment and they start praying. In most of the cases this ritual of prayer is performed with sort of singing chapters and words from the Koran on part of the Muslim spiritual leader. They are often sang from the balcony of the mosque in front of which the Muslims are gathered and perform the prayer ritual. If the praying advocates of the Muslim religion are indoors , namely within the mosque they often use a special type of a rug which they carry with them to knee on it and better comply with the rules of the ritual. The “Shahada” or the awareness of belief is renewed during the prayer ritual and thereby the Muslim religion comes to the second pillar to be mentioned which is the “Salad”, or the second belief duty. The “Salad” is fulfilled by the described steps previously and it is , of course , closely connected to the “Shahada”. A special spiritual and ritual cleaning precedes the prayer which is performed often with water or in a more symbolic manner with sand.
